Al Adalh - Al Nasr 65-91 Very expected game when 8th ranked Al Adalh (2-5) was crushed at home by third ranked Al Nasr (6-1) 91-65 on Friday. Al Nasr looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. American swingman Brandon Austin (198-1994, college: NW Florida St.) fired a double-double by scoring 23 points, 11 rebounds and 8 assists for the winners. His fellow American import forward Antonio Campbell (206-1994, college: Ohio) chipped in a double-double by scoring 20 points and 10 rebounds. Five Al Nasr players scored in double figures. Al Nasr's coach felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Russian forward Andrey Semenov (200-1990, college: JMU) produced 26 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists and Tunisian swingman Islem Elajmi (196-1991) added 11 points and 8 assists respectively for lost side. Al Nasr have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to second place. Newly promoted Al Adalh keeps the eighth position with five games lost. They share it with Al Salam and Duba Club. Al Nasr will meet at home league's leader Al Ahly in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Al Adalh will play against Ohod (#4) in Medina and hope to secure a win. This time they beat ninth ranked Duba Club (2-5) in Jeddah 85-70. Strangely Duba Club outrebounded Al Ahly 50-34 including a 18-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. They shot the lights out from three sinking 15 long-distance shots on high 51.7 percentage. The former international Ali Shubayli (190-1996) fired 24 points and 4 assists for the winners. American forward Devin Ebanks (206-1989, college: WVU) chipped in 20 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. Four Al Ahly players scored in double figures. Al Ahly's coach used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American guard Unique McLean (188, college: SFC, agency: Blacktop Management) produced a double-double by scoring 36 points (!!!) and 14 rebounds and Ukrainian center Vladyslav Koreniuk (210-1994, agency: BIG) added 14 points and 19 rebounds respectively for lost side. Al Ahly have an impressive series of seven victories in a row. They maintain first place with 7-0 record. Duba Club lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the eighth position with five games lost. They share it with Al Salam and Al Adalh. Al Ahly will meet league's second-placed Al Nasr in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Duba Club will play against Al Salam (#9) and it may be a tough game between close rivals. Sixth ranked Al Ittihad (4-3) saved a 2-point victory at home edging 3rd placed Al Fateh (5-2) 78-76 on Friday evening. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Al Fateh. It was an exceptional evening for American power forward Charles Rhodes (203-1985, college: MSU) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 16 rebounds. Tunisian point guard Omar Abada (189-1993) accounted for 26 points, 7 assists and 4 steals for the winning side. Algerian forward Mohamed Harat (198-1990) came up with a double-double by scoring 40 points (!!!) and 16 rebounds (made all of his seven free throws) and Mohammed Alsaqer added 12 points and 12 assists respectively for Al Fateh in the defeat. Al Ittihad have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Al Hilal. Al Fateh at the other side keeps the third position with two games lost. They share it with Ohod. Al Ittihad will play against Al Ansar (#11) in Medina in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Al Fateh will play on the road against Al Wehda (#7) in Mecca and hopes to get back on the winning track. American forward Nick Stover (198-1993, college: USA) fired a double-double by scoring 32 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. His fellow American import center Anthony McClain (211-1988, college: Cincinnati) chipped in a double-double by scoring 16 points, 17 rebounds and 4 blocks (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). Stover is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. American guard Darious Clark (193-1990, college: Slippery Rock, agency: Domantay Sports) produced a double-double by scoring 22 points and 14 rebounds and Serbian power forward Aleksandar Marelja (207-1992, agency: BeoBasket) added 21 points and 10 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Al Salam (2-5) moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Duba Club and Al Adalh. Al-Taawon lost their fifth game in a row. Newly promoted team stay at the bottom position with six games lost. They share it with Al Ansar. Al Salam will meet Duba Club (#10) in the next round. Al-Taawon will play against Al Hilal and hope to win that game. Americans were the main players on the court. It was a great evening for power forward Clinton Chapman (208-1989, college: Texas) who led his team to a victory scoring 24 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. Guard Mark Lyons (185-1989, college: Arizona) helped adding 19 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. At the losing side guard Brian Halums (196-1997, college: UAFS) responded with 24 points and 7 rebounds and forward Justin Everett (206-1996, college: Humboldt St.) produced a double-double by scoring 18 points and 12 rebounds. Defending champion moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Al Ittihad. Al Wehda at the other side dropped to the seventh position with four games lost. Al Hilal is looking forward to face bottom-ranked Al-Taawon (#12) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Al Wehda will play against Al Fateh (#3) and is hoping to win this game. Ohod dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Al Ansar's 40. They outrebounded Al Ansar 51-30 including a 39-22 advantage in defensive rebounds. American forward Jordan Washington (203-1993, college: Iona, agency: Interperformances) fired a double-double by scoring 46 points (!!!) and 17 rebounds for the winners. His fellow American import point guard James Justice (178-1989, college: UT Southern) chipped in 24 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field). Ohod's coach felt very confident that he used entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. Mustafa Ibrahim produced 23 points and Guyanese-American center Anthony Moe (206-1990, college: Millersville) added 13 points and 10 rebounds respectively for lost side. Ohod moved-up to third place, which they share with Al Fateh. Al Ansar lost their sixth game in a row. They keep the eleventh position with six games lost. They share it with Al-Taawon. Ohod will meet at home Al Adalh (#8) in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Al Ansar will play against Al Ittihad and hope to win that game.
